Uses, October 2026⌁ The October issue of my uses page is up. It’s a periodic table of every app and web tool I had on screen on at least three days last month, ranked by days, with notes on what changed.
Claude went from fifth to first and ChatGPT dropped to second. Fifteen tools joined the table, six of them new to my Mac. Six more were used and uninstalled within the month, including Dia, Soma and Skills Desktop.
Older notes
Madlib Maker⌁ Added AI generation to Madlib Maker for rapid-fire madlib creation. You’ll need an API key from Claude or OpenAI. Then you describe your story and get a madlib back, properly formatted and with questions. Here’s a launch video. #
Alfred Prompt Enhancer⌁ I speak most agent prompts in long, rambling fragments. So I made an Alfred workflow to transform text into a decent prompt. It even adds questions in brackets to call out where my meandering monologue left something to be desired. [cool, huh?] #
New portfolio is live⌁ Went through all five stages of portfolio for this one: telling my partner it would only take two days (denial), digging through a decade of old Figma files (anger), rebuilding my 1998 website from the Wayback Machine instead of finishing case studies (bargaining), remembering I’d have to post on here when I finished (depression), and logging in anyway because I still like a lot of you and I need a job (acceptance).
I built it with a combination of my own product design skills and some new ones I’ve learned (and borrowed) from AI for Designers and Engineers by Emil Kowalski and Interface Craft by Josh Puckett. #
